Moon Dust Foundry ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains how information is handled in the Aura application for iOS.
Aura is built so that there is very little to explain. You are not asked who you are, your writing never leaves your phone, and we hold no account for you because there is no account to hold.
What we collect
- No account is required. You are not asked to register, sign in, or provide a name, email address or phone number to use Aura.
- Your data stays on your device. Your tuning results, your check-ins, your reading history and your Safehouse journal are stored locally on your iPhone. They are not uploaded to us.
- We do not run analytics or advertising. Aura does not include third-party advertising or behavioural tracking software.
- Purchases are handled by Apple. Any in-app purchase is processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect, process or store your payment details or billing address.
The Safehouse
The Safehouse is the private journal inside Aura. It is subject to a stricter rule than the rest of the app:
- Safehouse entries are stored only on your device.
- They are never transmitted to our servers or to any third party.
- They are never read, analysed, summarised or used to generate anything by a language model.
Because entries are held on your device, they are included in your own device backups if you have those switched on. Those backups are governed by Apple's terms, not ours.
How reflections are generated
To produce a reflection, Aura sends the selections you have made during a check-in — which space you chose, the structured options you selected, and the resulting state — through a secure proxy we operate to Anthropic's Claude API, which returns the text you read.
- These requests carry no name, email address, account identifier or advertising identifier.
- Aura offers structured choices rather than a free-text box at this step, so the material sent is limited to those selections.
- The response is used to generate your reflection for that session and is not retained by us.
Anthropic processes these requests under its own commercial terms and privacy policy.
Services we rely on
- Apple. App distribution, in-app purchase and receipt validation.
- Netlify. Hosts this website and the serverless proxy that routes reflection requests.
- Anthropic. Provides the language model that generates reflections.
Keeping and deleting your data
Because everything you create in Aura is stored on your device, deleting the app permanently removes your check-ins, readings, tuning results and Safehouse entries from that device. We hold no copy to delete on your behalf.
Children
Aura is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
